How do I rid of cellulite?

Believe it or not, you no longer have to be ashamed of the clumpy dimples of fat on your thighs when at the beach. Endermologie is the first FDA approved treatment for the removal of cellulite. A non-invasive cosmetic procedure, endermologie is proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the thighs, buttocks and other areas prone to cellulite.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the dimpling that appears on skin and is caused by a group of fat cells. The fat cells in the skin swell which causes the connective tissues to stretch, creating the dimpling effect, or the orange peel look that women hope to avoid. Once the connective tissues have stretched, the circulation in the affected areas slows and toxins build up, worsening the appearance of cellulite.

How does endermologie work?

Cellulite is difficult to get rid of through exercise because exercise strengthens the muscles underneath the skin and not the fat cells themselves. For some patients, liposuction can be effective at reducing the appearance of cellulite but for others liposuction can make the appearance of cellulite worse.

Endermologie works to reduce the appearance of cellulite by stimulating the body to rejuvenate the connective tissue in the cells, which improves the smoothness of skin. The treatment stimulates rejuvenation of the skin cells and removes the dead skin cells from the surface layer.

By boosting the lymphatic system of the body, endermologie reduces water retention and further reduces the appearance of cellulite.

How is endermologie treatment performed?

Endermologie is performed using a hand held machine, similar to a body massager. The patient wears a body stocking designed to intensify the treatment and lies down during treatment.

The therapist moves the endermologie device across the body. The machine alternatively provides suction and rolling pressure to the area.

Each treatment takes approximately 35 minutes to perform. On average, 20 treatments are needed to see complete results. To prevent cellulite returning, patients are advised to return for maintenance appointments once a month.
