| Hair extensions may look great, but they come with serious risks! |
Hair loss in women is more common than ever, thanks to a very popular beauty trend: hair extensions. No matter the type (and there are many), hair extensions can cause serious damage to the hair. The stress and pulling on hair follicles causes breakage and hair loss, and can even result in noticeable bald spots.
Hair loss surgeons are very concerned about this growing trend. More women than ever (some as young as 20!) are seeking professional treatment for the damage that they've caused to their hair. Unfortunately, in many cases, the consequences are permanent.
The only solutions include to continue wearing damaging wigs and weaves, or to undergo hair restoration surgery procedures like follicular unit extraction (or FUE for short).
