Pill-Sized Camera Helping Doctors Fight Colon Cancer

A pill-sized camera has been approved by the FDA for doctors to serve patients who are unable to have a complete colonoscopy.

Israeli company, Given Imaging, created a medical device that navigates through the intestines over an eight-hour period.

The device takes aggressively detailed images that are sent to the coordinating device, which is later examined by your doctor.

"PillCam COLON will improve patient care by offering a new and effective colon imaging option for patients who have experienced an incomplete colonoscopy." — Douglas Rex of Indiana University School of Medicine.
