When seniors experience a loss of brain cells, it may help explain their distress in falling and staying
asleep. According to a new study on Alzheimer's patients, sleep disruption can be particularly severe and often results in nighttime confusion and wandering.
Data was examined by the Rush Memory and Aging Project, which
included nearly 1,000 individuals — who were monitored from 65 years of
age to following their death, at which point the brains was donated for
research.
